• We take your precious pennies very seriously here at the Flash Pack. So seriously in fact, we’re a member of Travel Vault (http://www.thetravelvault.co.uk/) which was set up to provide UK consumers with the highest level of financial protection in the Travel Industry. In the unlikely event of the Flash Pack going broke, Travel Vault provides you with total protection against both us and the suppliers we use. This protection lasts from that first merry moment of booking your holiday right through to the not-so-merry point of returning home. So you can enjoy every holiday booked through the Flash Pack knowing that you have 100% financial protection and full peace of mind at all times.

  • We sure do. Our license number is 11200 and we are fully ATOL bonded which means all our flights inclusive holidays are completely protected.

  • In case you suddenly remember it’s your great aunt Mildred’s 100th birthday or have a change of Flashpacking heart, you can get a full refund for your deposit up to 7 days after booking as long as your trip is departing in 90 days or more. If your trip is departing in less than 90 days then you can mix things up and easily transfer your deposit to any other of our awesome trips.

  • If you are booking within 90 days of departure, we will require the full payment from you in order to reserve your place. We need the dosh to secure all the necessary amenities for your trip so that everything runs shipshape.

  • Sure thing, that’s no problem as long as the full balance is paid 90 days before departure. If you’re booking within the 90 day period please contact our super friendly travel desk to discuss. We promise to do our best to help you.

  • The Flash Pack adventures are for travellers with a yearning to get off the beaten track. Flashpackers have the soul of a backpacker, but the days of grimy hostels are firmly behind them. Think of it as backpacking for grownups, complete with boutique hotels and air-conditioned transport. Most of our customers are busy professionals aged 30-50 who arrive solo, ready to meet their fellow Flashpackers on the group tour. And 68% of our customers have never been on a group tour before so you can all fling yourselves out of your comfort zones together.

  • Due to privacy laws we can’t give out your fellow travellers’ details. But if you join our Flash Pack Facebook group you'll be able to chat, ask questions and break the ice before the holiday. And everyone loves a good Facebook stalk. It works really well and most people feel super comfortable with each other from day one.

  • Good things come in small packages, which is why we keep our group sizes down. This means we’re small enough to remain flexible as we thread our way through communities, without daunting the locals. Plus it’s way more fun being part of a close-knit group, so on most of our trips you’ll be part of an intimate group of 6-12 people.

  • Our trips are designed specifically for busy professionals aged around 30-50 but we welcome mature 20 somethings and dynamic 50 somethings too. We have a specific age range because we want to bring together people who are truly like-minded and at a similar stage in their lives.

  • Absolutely! You will be in good company. 90% of our customers are solo travellers and love travelling the Flash Pack way. You’ll have the freedom you want with the added security of travelling in a group. Plus, our cosy group size is like travelling with a group of like-minded friends…you just haven’t met yet.

  • Our prices are comparable in price to the ‘Comfort’ tours advertised by other companies. We believe if you compare like for like, our holidays are way better value for money. Smaller groups mean the tours are a little more expensive but it means we can deliver a much more intimate and personal holiday.

We also specialise in experiential travel – travel that will help you get under the skin of a country. We don’t just ferry you from city to city showing you just the obvious hotspots. We delve deeper into the culture and include loads more interesting activities, like yummy foodie experiences, kayaking, hiking, cycling, glamping and so much more. Plus you wont spend too much money while on our holiday. So it may seem like a big investment up front, but it means you can budget properly rather than coming home and realising you have overspent.

  • Wherever we go in this precious world of ours we travel with respect for the people and the environment. We’re working hard to make our business as responsible and sustainable as possible, from our London HQ through to our trips on the ground. We strongly believe that as consumers we can make a positive difference in the world by choosing to spend our money wisely. We work with local people and their businesses to ensure your money goes directly to the communities who need it most, rather than to multi-national hotel chains.

  • Here at Flash Pack HQ we're always launching new adventures that require a thorough reccy before they become Flash Pack official. We need to make sure they're up to scratch so we're always on the hunt for faithful Flashpackers who will try some of our new adventures at a discount. For every new trip, we'll be running special pre-release departures (think of it like the preview for a play). Everything is the same as it should be, but the ticket is a fraction of the price. Of course it is brand new, so there's a very slim chance that it won't be absolutely perfect, but this is why we need your help. To apply to be an Insider please click here.

  • All prices are based on sharing a twin room with someone of the same gender. Most of our Flashpackers find sharing a room great fun and end up becoming really good friends with their roomie. However, if you value your space, we get that and can arrange a single supplement. As we use small boutique hotels we only have a few single supplements available so be sure to book early.

  • We don’t offer too many optional activities as we research and include the best activities in the holiday, we’re nice like that. If you want to go crazy and do something extra, let us know and we’ll try our best to incorporate it.

  • Travel insurance is compulsory for all Flashpackers and should be taken out at the time of booking. At a minimum your travel insurance must provide cover against personal accident, death, medical expenses, emergency repatriation and personal liability, with a minimum coverage of £200,000. We also strongly recommend it covers cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects. You must provide proof of your travel insurance on the first day of your trip, or it’s home time for you I’m afraid. The Flash Pack can organise travel insurance for UK residents, and don’t hesitate to have a chat with us if you want more details.

  • Visa requirements can often change so we recommend you check directly with your nearest embassy. And you can always have a chinwag with our travel desk for specific visa information relating to your trip.

  • For any visa-related confusion, we’re more than happy to help. Visas are dependent on your nationality and where you’re travelling, so ask our travel desk at the time of booking.

  • On most Flash Pack holidays you wont be required to carry your luggage for more than five minutes and there is always someone to help for a small tip. We love the hybrid backpack on wheels but it’s really not necessary to buy a new backpack. A suitcase will suffice!

  • Decisions, decisions. Please check out the packing 'checklist' in the holiday information pack you receive before you go.

  • Most Flash Pack holidays do not require any special equipment. From snow boots to surf boards, we’ve got you covered. If there is anything out of the ordinary that you might need, we will provide you with a more detailed packing list prior to the trip.

  • We recommend taking your trusty hiking boots for any hike included in the holiday, as terrain can become slippery in rain. If you feel confident in walking shoes or trainers then please feel free to take them, though perhaps not for trekking mountains...

  • When travelling the world, no Flashpacker should be without their current passport, visas, insurance and Flash Pack documentation. For more information, consult your ‘what to pack’ list.

  • Money, money, money. So many questions. Currency, banking services and other money matters differ between nations. It’s always handy to check for ATM locations for Mastercard or Visa before you jet off. For detailed recommendations specific to your trip, please speak to one of our Travel Experts to find out more. But fear not, you will be sent an information pack once you book your trip that will outline many of these issues.

  • You sure can. Just ask one of our Travel Experts at the time of booking.

  • Once you touch down at the airport on day one, your arrival transfer awaits ready to whisk you off into the adventure. Sometimes departure transfers are included and sometimes not, so for more detailed information refer to the respective trip page.

  • By all means. You are not obliged to take part in anything you don’t want to. The guide on your trip may be able to help you make alternative arrangements – so just give us a heads up at the time of booking. The only exception to this rule is when we are trekking, or travelling from one place to the next night's stop. And please note that anything organised outside of the group activity will be at your own cost.

  • Let’s not beat around the bush, you need to be ‘moderately fit’ to be able to participate in all Flashpacking activities, i.e. able to walk and give things a good go. All our trips involve some physical activities that help you really experience the destination rather than just ticking off sites. Some activities are more challenging than others so you might be a sweaty mess at the end of the day and you’ll definitely feel like you’ve been challenged, but if you have the right mindset we guarantee you’ll love it. No special skills are required for most adventures, just a sense of adventure and a curiosity about the world! For more info on a specific activity please get in touch with our Travel Experts.

  • Part of the joy of travelling is discovering things on your own. We design our itineraries with plenty of time to explore at your own pace, be it whizzing round markets or kicking back on the beach. Check the holiday pages and their detailed itineraries to suss out all the information of your adventure.

  • Let us know if you’re arriving late and we’ll do our very best to arrange a meeting point with your fellow Flashpackers. We don’t refund for any days or activities that you miss.

  • While we can’t tell you who the exactly who your guide is prior to departure, we can tell you they will be awesome. Our English speaking guides are experts in their regions, mostly because they’re locals and can’t wait to show off their neck of the woods. On longer journeys you may change guides part way through.

  • We’d hate to see you leave the Flash Pack party early, but if you do need to leave early or arrive late, we’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule.

  • Before you seize the day and book your holiday, please make sure you’re happy with your group trip itinerary because we are unable to change the tour for individual travellers. Alternatively, if you and a group of friends or colleagues would like to create your very own personally designed itinerary, get in contact with our very talented Private Groups sales team who can tailor an itinerary just for you.

  • If you have special dietary requirements, do let us know at time of booking. We will try our hardest to accommodate your requirements, but the nature of the places we travel may mean it’s not possible.

  • Food is always one of the best bits of travelling. There may be some familiar fare on our trips but we encourage our Flashpackers to sample the new, interesting and downright weird tastes of the culinary world. It’s an adventure for all the senses.

  • Most trips have regular access to western toilets, this is Flashpacking not backpacking after all. On rare occasions you may not. As a general rule, the more remote the place the less likely you are to find western bathroom facilities, but that’s all part of the charm.

  • Along the way there will usually be chances to do laundry, either through your hotel or local services. Your guide will be able to give you some laundry related tip-offs once you are on the trip (but its always good to pack enough clean undies, just in case).

  • Here at the Flash Pack we’re more into glamping than camping so our camping facilities are pretty luxurious. This can differ depending on your trip so check the accommodation on our trip itineraries for more information.

  • The hotels we use are listed on our website and will be confirmed in your trusty information pack. In our most popular destinations, we use a variety of hotels so we may not be able to give you an exact list until nearer the time of departure. Hotels can occasionally change but we carefully handpick all our hotels so they always maintain a great standard and style.

  • Most hotels have air-conditioning or heating, we don’t do grubby hostels.

  • The standard of hotel depends on the trip and can vary throughout the trip. We believe your accommodation is a huge part of the travel experience but we won’t put you in a super-duper hotel if you have no time to enjoy it. Generally, you can look forward to hand-selected, characterful and warm hotels to rest your head. Some countries are a little more challenging to find lovely boutique hotels but we always do thorough research to choose the best available.

  • Whether you want to update loved ones or post some epic snaps on social media, most of the hotels we use have phones and Wi-Fi. This depends on how far flung your location is, so speak to our Travel Experts for all the communication low down. If you stumble into somewhere with no coverage, take the chance to just sit back and get to know your fellow travellers the old fashioned way.

  • Give our Travel Experts a bell for specific transportation information regarding your trip, but generally we use high quality private mini-buses to get from A to B. However, if this is a long distance then we opt for flights instead, no-one wants a long bus journey on holiday.

  • Yes, tipping is part of everyday life in most parts of the world. In terms of how much and who for, your information pack will tip you in the right direction (no pun intended). Your guide is also a good source of tipping wisdom, they can advise you in more detail on where and when it’s appropriate.

  • We endeavor to make our trips as safe as possible, but while travelling there is always the possibility of theft. A lockable bag, money belts and insurance are always important items to travel with. Bumbags are the way forward.

  • We recommend having access to money from a variety of sources – cash, cards and money cards are all good to have. Be sure to check the information packs for more country specific information.

  • We cannot guarantee constant availability of refrigeration. As a general rule, many of our city hotels provide access to small fridges but outside of this, especially when trekking remote corners of the world, you cannot rely on access to refrigeration. We’ll always try our best to help, so please ask our Travel Experts.

  • Our guides are trained to deal with these situations and we will endeavor to get you help as quickly as possible. If you need to head home due to illness, our local offices will help you find appropriate medical care and ensure someone back home is aware of the situation. We will do whatever we can to get you home or on your onward journey. Travel insurance is compulsory on all Flash Pack trips.

  • Medical and vaccination requirements differ between from trip to trip. So for detailed recommendations specific to your trip, please refer to your information pack. We recommend seeking advice from your doctor. Flash Pack orders.
