Hiking in Peru, kayaking in Vietnam, paddle-boarding in Slovenia… there are many different ways to enjoy active travel on a Flash Pack holiday. So what if you’re wondering – what if I’m not fit enough?

We’re here to put your mind at ease. To really enjoy a travelling experience with us, you only need to have a moderate level of fitness. Let’s take a look at this in more detail.

What is meant by a “moderate level of fitness”?

Do you enjoy walking? The occasional yoga class, or a swim in the pool when you’re on holiday? Then you have nothing to worry about when it comes to active travel.

Our holidays have been specifically created for busy, professional 30 and 40 somethings in need of a break. We know that you work hard and have a lot going on – some days, you probably don’t even have time for a cup of tea never mind a 10k run. That’s why the activities we go on are designed to challenge you, but not exhaust you. There aren’t any rock-scaling climbs or hard-core workouts involved (and you can also choose a trip based on the activities involved). At the end of the day, we want you to feel stimulated, tired, and probably sweaty – but never drained or struggling.

If you enjoy long walks in the countryside and a day of exploring gets your heart racing in more ways than one, you’ll love our active travel tours. Plus, if there are any activities you really don’t feel comfortable with – don’t worry, you don’t have to do them! Nobody’s going to judge you. This is your adventure – you’re free to live it your way.

What activities will I do on a Flash Pack holiday?

It really depends on the tour you choose, and some are more physical than others. Our Peru tour, for example, includes a two-day hike up Rainbow Mountain at high altitude, a trek through the Amazonian Jungle and biking through the mysterious highlands of the Sacred Valley (incredible right?). So, it’s a fair bit more challenging than, say, our Spanish Vespa tour, which you’ll spend most of your time zooming around the cities on retro wheels. On our Uganda Marathon Tour, it’s a good idea to come with some running experience or previous training – you’ll take part in a marathon through the African landscape – while our Philippines tour is much more about snorkelling and island-hopping (woohoo). We’re happy to help you decide if you’re struggling to choose an active adventure.

If you do have any health concerns you’d like to speak to us about, or questions about active travel in general, just get in touch and we’d be happy to have a chat.
