A cat and a dog are used to fighting… well, like cats and dogs.
But Siamese kitten mix Baloo and his loyal canine pal Henry are the best of buddies. In fact, their love for one another runs so deep, they can’t resist sharing every adventure together.
Henry and Baloo both started life as rescue animals when they were adopted by Colorado resident Cynthia Bennett. First came Henry in 2014, and then Baloo joined the family just a few months ago.

Cynthia and her boyfriend moved to Colorado because they love to hike. Their idea of a great weekend involves getting right out into the wilderness of the spectacular hills and mountains where they live.
No surprises that Henry rather likes this lifestyle. “We call him our little mountain goat,” Cynthia tells The Dodo. “He scares us to death, because he goes up to the highest cliff or the highest rock to climb up and look over it.”
Amazingly, though, kitty Baloo has taken to these expeditions in the Great Outdoors, too.
Hi 👋🏼I'm Cynthia ( @ourwildspirits ), Henry + Baloo's mom! I want to introduce myself with some fun facts. But first THANK YOU all for following our adventures! It means so much to us that so many people care about our little family that we are lucky enough to have ❤️ You all make this life possible for us + we are so grateful! • 1. I was THAT horse girl in school 2. I grew up in New Hampshire + Massachusetts 3. Birks + socks are my go-to (try not to judge 😂) 4. One day I plan to have a farm with horses, cows, alpacas, pigs, goats (all pets of course) 5. I have asthma and Henry is always there encouraging me to live the life I want to live because life's too short not to. 🤙🏼
According to Cynthia, Baloo immediately took a shine to his four-legged friend. He wanted to play and snuggle with the dog the whole time, and refused to be left out when Cynthia and her boyfriend took him for a walk.
“If I touch Henry’s leash, [Baloo] will start screaming at the door,” Cynthia says. “He’s very vocal.”
As he so clearly didn’t want to miss the fun, Cynthia started leash-training Baloo, and he took to it straight away.
Now he likes nothing better than a good ol’ stroll in nature either beside, or preferably on top of, his friend Henry (because why sweat when you can catch a free ride, right?)
“I call them brothers, but I think Baloo thinks that Henry’s his mum because he constantly looks for a teet,” Cynthia says. “So he’ll go in, and you can tell he’s looking, because he’s nuzzling under Henry’s armpit.
“Henry has become the best big brother and always checks on him to make sure he is doing okay,” she adds.
As for Baloo, he’s not exactly your typical cat anymore.

“He’s definitely not the kind of cat we can leave home alone on the weekend now,” Cynthia says. “I think he thinks he’s more a dog than anything.”
He even gets to bed down in a special pet sleeping bag on camping trips – with Henry by his side, of course.
